Everbound Goods Collection
Holstein #001
Holstein #001
The Holstein 001 collection takes its name from the breed: robust, consistent, built to work. These are everyday carry pieces made by a person, not a machine, from a single shoulder of jet black, vegetable tanned leather sourced from Thomas Ware & Sons, Bristol's own tannery.
Three pieces. A card wallet, a key organiser, a glasses case. Each one cut from the same hide, so the leather across the set shares the same character, the same subtle texture, the same depth. Bought together, they age together.
The leather is semi-rigid with a natural texture and a stiffness that gives structure to every piece. No decorative coatings, no finishes that wear away over time. Just the natural surface of full-grain, vegetable tanned hide, chosen specifically because it improves with daily use, rather than deteriorating from it.
What makes this collection different
Most everyday carry accessories are made to a price. The materials are whatever is cheapest, the finishes are whatever hides the shortcuts best, and the expectation is replacement within a couple of years. The Holstein 001 collection is built on the opposite logic.
Vegetable tanned leather from a Bristol tannery with centuries of craft behind it. Hand stitching in contrasting white Ritza thread using a saddle stitch technique that locks every stitch independently. Solid brass hardware that develops a patina rather than a chip. Edges bevelled and burnished by hand until smooth.
These are pieces designed to be reached for every day without thinking about them, and to reward that daily use by becoming more individual, more characterful, and more your own with every passing month.
The leather
Sourced from Thomas Ware & Sons in Bristol, one of Britain's most established traditional tanneries. Full-grain, vegetable tanned using natural plant tannins rather than industrial chemicals. The process takes weeks rather than hours, and produces a leather with a denser fibre structure, better durability, and the capacity to develop a genuine patina over time.
The jet black colour of the Holstein collection comes from the leather itself, not from paint or coating. Over time, handled edges lighten slightly and high-contact areas develop a burnished quality that no factory finish can replicate.
The construction
Every piece in the Holstein 001 collection is hand stitched using white Ritza waxed thread in a saddle stitch. Each stitch is locked independently, so if one thread ever wears through, the seam holds. Edges are finished by hand, bevelled, sanded, and burnished until smooth. Hardware is solid brass throughout.
This is a limited run, made from a single hide. When the hide is finished, the collection closes.
