Tuscany Belt #003
Tuscany Belt #003
These are belts that know what they are: honest materials, worked by hand, made to endure. No trend-chasing, no seasonal updates, no compromise on materials. The Tuscany belt collection is built on the simple idea that a belt should be the last one you ever buy.
The Tuscany name comes from the leather. Full-grain, vegetable tanned hide sourced from Tuscany through A&A Crack & Sons, one of Britain's most respected leather merchants. We visited them personally to hand select the hides used in this collection, choosing a heavyweight double butt for its density, strength, and the character of its natural grain. Cut from the strongest part of the hide, shaped by hand in our Bristol workshop, and finished with solid brass hardware built to outlast the leather itself.
Two widths. The same construction, the same materials, and the same commitment throughout. The 32mm for those who want refinement. The 40mm for those who want presence.
Why this leather
Vegetable tanning is the oldest form of leather production in the world, and the most demanding. Using natural plant tannins rather than industrial chemicals, the process takes weeks rather than the hours of chrome tanning. The result is a leather with a denser fibre structure that does not peel, crack, or lose its surface. It develops a patina.
Over months and years of wear, the chocolate brown leather deepens where it is worn most, creases naturally at the buckle, softens where it bends. These are not signs of age. They are proof that the material is doing what it was made to do, becoming more individual and more beautiful the longer it stays with you.
The double butt is cut from either side of the backbone, the strongest and most consistent part of the hide. A belt cut from a lesser part of the hide will stretch and distort. A belt cut from a double butt holds its shape for decades.
The hardware
Solid brass buckle and keeper. Not brass-plated zinc. Heavy cast with no false finishes applied. Solid brass develops a natural patina alongside the leather, so the two age together rather than one ageing and one chipping. Both are fitted to last as long as the leather itself, which is to say: a very long time.
The construction
Each belt is cut by hand using a strap cutter, requiring a strong but precise hand. The belt loop and tail are shaped using custom 3D printed templates, ensuring every piece leaves the workshop to exactly the same profile. Seven holes punched cleanly, spaced 1 inch apart, giving a range of comfortable fits. Edges bevelled, sanded, and burnished by hand. The buckle secured with a saddle stitch in contrasting orange Ritza thread: a two-needle technique that locks every stitch independently.
The Everbound debossed logo sits on the tail of the belt. Small, considered, and out of sight, quietly stating that we are proud of what we make.
Sizing
Add 1 to 2 inches to your trouser waist measurement to find your belt size. 1 inch for a closer fit, 2 inches for a more relaxed wear. If you are between sizes, go up.
