Oxblood Leather Shopper Bag
A one-off. This shopper was cut from an end-of-line oxblood hide sourced through A&A Crack & Sons. Once it has gone, we won't be able to make another quite like it.
It's a bag for every day, made to be carried for decades rather than seasons. It's simple in shape, generous in what it holds and finished with solid brass.
The leather
Full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather in a deep, rich oxblood, from A&A Crack & Sons' end-of-line stock. Buying hides that larger makers pass over is part of how we work: nothing good goes to waste.
Veg tan is tanned slowly with natural plant tannins rather than industrial chemicals, so it doesn't peel or crack. It starts firm with a soft sheen. With use it softens, darkens where your hands meet it and develops a patina that is entirely your own.

The construction
Every panel is cut by hand in our Bristol workshop and saddle-stitched with two needles. Each stitch locks on its own, so a single break won't unravel the seam. Edges are bevelled, sanded and burnished by hand. No sewing machines, no shortcuts.

Only one made
This is the only Shopper Bag in this leather. If it has gone, or you'd like one made in a different leather, our bespoke service can make one for you.
